Brig. Gen. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Hannan

Brigadier General Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Hannan is an experienced, internationally trained cardiovascular and thoracic surgery specialist and senior cardiac surgeon in Bangladesh. With many years of professional experience, he provides modern surgical treatment for heart diseases, heart valve conditions, congenital heart diseases and different complex conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels.

He completed his MBBS from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College. He later earned FCPS (Surgery) and FCPS (Cardiovascular Surgery) degrees. His advanced professional training includes a Fellowship in Cardiac, Thoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS) in Singapore and a specialised Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) from Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences (NICS), Bangalore, India.

His areas of expertise in cardiac surgery include Beating Heart CABG, Conventional CABG, Heart Valve Replacement and Repair, Congenital Heart Defect Surgery, Aortic Root Surgery, Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS), Vascular Surgery and Thoracic Surgery, including VATS. He is also experienced in complex heart operations and different surgical treatments for blood vessel conditions.

Brigadier General Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Hannan currently serves as Advisor Specialist & Professor in Cardiovascular Surgery, Head of the Department and Head of the Cardiovascular Surgery Center (CVS Centre) at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka Cantonment. He also has many years of medical and teaching experience and serves as an examiner in Surgery and Cardiovascular Surgery at different medical institutions.
